Alice in wonderland

This is my latest custom made album creation themed around 'Alice in wonderland.'
When I went to source some embellishments and papers I couldnt find a thing in the scrapbook line- only some dodgy stamps which were in the Uk and would of taken a month to get here.
Couldnt really justify spending $30 on stamps I'd never use!!
so i put on my "alice in wonderland" thinking hat !
tea party
rabbit
cards
watch
mad hatters tea party...
hmmmm so I bought some playing cards- but they were really glossy and colourful and not what i wanted to use in the album- too commercial and tacky.
So i scanned them into photoshop- turned them greyscale, then bitmap and printed them out onto bazzill cardstock.
Each one was then trimmed and the corners rounded with a punch , I then distressed the sides and even stamped a playing card pattern on the back!
Which was probably a bit weird as you can only see the front!LOL
Thinking mad hatter tea party invitations I then made a heaps of tiny weeny envelopes to hide away and place on the pages.
I wanted a funky off kilter look so i made shaped photo matts and placed them on an angle.
Inspired by Alice's blue dress with the white ribbon and  I placed a 'floating'  white suade ribbon across the matt for the photo's to go under. It's furry and lush!
As a bit of an extra I matted some pic's that i downloaded and printed onto bazzil to pop as an extra slip in piece. i figured they would look great over the photo's when they go in or would be nice popped into the open ends of the paper bags.
Most of the embellishments were stuck only in the corners so that photo's tags etc could easily be slipped underneath.
I went mad with lots of stamping- finally got to use the new "chatsworth" stamps from papermania. They have lovely borders and a fantastic chair which I LOVE.
the crown and crown/flourish were from a making memories clear set, the rest I have no idea. The only thing I know is i have TOO MANY STAMPS!!
So i stamped not only a flourishy corner on the photo matts
but also title panels a fob watch and crowns. Some of these i embosssed using a glittery gold embossing powder from stamp it.
They havent photographed that well but the real things have crispy crunchy details.
the flowers i made using the same paperstocks i used through the book - the 'chatsworth' range from papermania.
these were also glossy accented and glittered with kindy glitz.
I added a few pop out papers as well as hidden flaps and library tags.
As a bit of a bonus I also made a packet of small distressed and stamped tags for journalling to go with the pictures.
i had a lot of fun making this and I hope the lady likes it.
in fact it's given me a lot of ideas so i'll be making an 8x8 paper bag album to go on ebay this week!
Of course it wont be the same- as I really have a thing about that BUT i really like this theme.
so keep checking my ebay shop for my new listing!
cheers l xx
