Simple pleasures make lasting treasures

Oops haven’t had my new stamp’s in the door 5 minutes and have already used them on my latest album!
The lovely Mel from Kaszazz in Bunbury has just delivered a big bag full of goodies.
I've never used kaszazz stamps or products before and I gotta say- impressed!!
They are unmounted and look a bit scrappy- but I gotta tell you the images are crispy clear and i think they will be well used.

So here it is my latest eBay offering
"Simple pleasures make lasting treasures"
a memories paper bag scrapbook album- journal.
As always it's a one off design- i never copy the same layout per bag like many others tend to do, and the papers are nearly the last of that series- DCWV Mariposa.
So here we have it -
ready for sale

have a fairy happy day xxx L

Custom made "Precious memories" keepsake journal paper bag album for Sasha

Custom made album for Sasha.

This is an album I am a little nervous about- as I had complete choice in colors and theme.
So I’m hoping that I’m not too far off the mark!
I started off by looking at the previous purchases and trying to get a feel for the things and styles she liked.
I had a tiny bit of this beautiful paper left, which I had shipped in especially from the USA  for my own private collection and thought it was perfect for this creation.
The papers are floral, vintage and also glittery and funky at the same time.  Soft blues, creams and beige with a hint of green. There is even a pattern of an old map on some pages and I thought it represented the theme “journey” beautifully.

Its not a conventional modern memories album- lots of interactive spaces for writing thoughts along with different photo spaces.
I love the idea of this being not too dated and that it doesn’t scream ‘2010”-
But it’s also not too old fashioned too.

I have sprinkled spiritual quotes throughout, added LOTS of flaps and a couple of  pockets with extra tags in.
The library pockets I’ve left empty, so that notes/secrets/ messages can be hidden inside.
The front cover has a beautiful flock texture within the cream pattern and feels velvety soft. I’ve hung a key ( representing the future) and a heart from the ribbons on the spine.
I’ve embossed a subtle swirl pattern through the photo matts and circles and the glittered them to carry the theme throughout.
I have used a mix of polysparkle and holographic embossing powder to highlight the edges of journaling areas and of the tabs to the fold out elements.
I have tied organza ribbon around the photo matts in a way that means you can easily slip your photo’s underneath.

Metal embellishments throughout include- dragonflies, a little silver key and silver daisy photo corners.
There’s a scatter of pearls and I have glimmer misted some 2 crafty chipboard embellishments- then glossy accented and kindy glitzed them!
A mix of rub ons and stamped images and words are scattered throughout.
I have so enjoyed creating this piece and I really hope that Sasha likes it!!
Fingers crossed :-)

Hot from the studio- FAMILY lunch bag paper bag album

Hot from the scrap studio, a beautiful vintage family theme lunch bag scrapbook album! Wouldn’t this look fantastic with old sepia or black and white photo’s? I'm almost tempted to pop in some photo's of my own and keep it myself!
This album I have created with 5 bags- so that’s 10 pages in all with 5 openings to pop in  memorabilia and ephemera. I have also made 3 extra large sheets into the open ends of the bags as a little extra, for more photos and writing.
The album measures 8 inches by just over 9.5 inches and has HEAPS of room for photos.I have made 6 photo matts to fit a standard 4x6” photo, with a tiny bit of extra “frame showing so they will look 3d!  I have been generous with journaling and heading spaces with a touch of gold stamping on each piece. There are also some lovely embossed circle areas to add extra photos.
HINT: I find that circle punches from the brand “friskars” available from K-mart or Spotlight are perfect for trimming your photos for that really professional look!
All my embellishments are handmade -the chipboard has been glimmer misted then stamped and layered with glossy accents, to achieve a high gloss finish professional look. They have photographed a bit dark- they have a real 3d gold shimmer finish- they are like looking into a cats eyes.. spooky!

Many of the pages are decorated with beautiful satin ribbon; there are 3 library pockets with tags- ready for extra comments or journaling. Also there are 2 flaps that extend out for hidden journaling and extra photos that you may want hidden from view.

Phew I'm exhausted writing about it!
